    Don’t forget the next run in our fun run pub series….thursday, feb 18th in Exeter….meet at the Tavern on Rivers Edge at 6pm, the tavern is right on the main drag in Exeter!   for directions www.tavernatriversedge.com.  We will have a 3 or 5 mile run…then join us in the pub after the run for some cocktails!….hope to see you then.

    Have you heard the BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ….about CAA’s newest challenge….it’s the Seacoast Marathon Challenge….

    This challenge is for any level runner with a marathon goal

    1. For those interested in pursuing their first marathon needing support and guidance.
    2. For runners who already have completed a marathon and are ready for the next goal.
    3. For advanced marathoners looking for scheduled workouts and company during long runs.
    4. Select a fall marathon –Portland, Me and Hampton, NH, both have reserved spots for us.
    5. Convenient long runs mapped along the seacoast. .
    6. Mentor/Mentee support as well as Facebook group page for advice and coaching along the way.
    7. A good time and a wonderful journey to 26.2 miles!!

  • How to Train for the Boston Marathon

    A good Boston cycle will have three, maybe four long runs depending on how much time you have to train and your ability to recover.

    A typical three-long-run schedule might be 18 miles, 20 miles, 22 miles, with each of these efforts separated by a shorter run with more tempo effort (approximately 12 to 14 miles).

    A more advanced four-long-run schedule mile alternate 18 miles, 20 miles, 18 miles, 22 miles. In this case, the advanced athlete can pair the 18/20 and 18/22 weekends, separating these two week blocks with just one shorter weekend run as outlined above.
