WE NEED YOU… volunteers need for Thursday, August 16th at 6pm for the Saunders 10k CAA WATERSTOP….
Thursday, August 16th…If you are not planning on running Saunders and you have not yet volunteered for a CAA event…here is the perfect opportunity!? Please help us out at the CAA sponsored waterstop. We are located at approx. the 3 mile mark, in front of the TD Banknorth building. You would need to arrive around 5:45 and will be done by 6:45 at the latest. This Tuesday is Track Night at our track workouts…great reason to come and check out the track workouts and stay for refreshments and goodies afterwards… along raffle items donated by Runner’s Alley.

BAREFOOT RUNNING STUDY at UNH . . .
Tim Quinn, a prof at UNH in the Exercise Physiology area is doing a study comparing shoe versus barefoot running. He is trying to recruit subjects in both categories (shoe and barefoot) who meet the following characteristics: (1) both genders; (2) between 18-45 years of age; (3) recent 5K race time under 22 minutes; and (4) run at least 30 miles per week. Our weekly runs have something for everyone….
Monday nights: BG’s Boathouse, Rt. 1B, 6pm…4-6 miles! There is also a group that meets at Redhook Brewery from a variety of local clubs at 6pm.
Tuesday nights: Track workouts at the Portsmouth High School, 6:15 warmup, 6:30 workout starts
Thursday nights: Runner’s Alley 6pm 4-5 miles…
Saturday mornings: 8am Runner’s Alley, 4,6 or 8 mile options, a variety of paces!
